Betsy Smith

Vibrancy has always been Betsy’s hallmark. Since she met watercolour about ten years she’s unceasingly pushed it to its limits, confirming the versatility that she felt it had. She loves to capture the moment when pleasure and surprise engage the eye - so she works very fast - immediacy and excitement. Betsy trained at High Wycombe School of Art, and later in dress design at Loughborough College of Art. She spent some years designing and making clothes as striking and as bold as is her painting. Her adult classes in various Shropshire venues are always popular - she transmits as much energy there as through her own works.
