Nigel Jones

Nigel trained at the Sculpture School of the Royal College of Art, and worked in that vein for many years. But he took up painting after a major stroke in 2003. Although this disabled him, he has dedicated himself to the transition from three dimensions to two, which would be very difficult under any circumstances, but as his work shows, he is making powerful progress.

Nigel uses acrylics because they enable him to have a direct approach to his painting since they dry quickly, and because they get the bright colours and textures that he wants on his canvasses.
